The Kootenay Orienteering Club is once again teaming up with the Kimberley Nordic Club to host the 3rd Nordic Fest Ski Orienteering event on Sunday March 12, 2023 at the Kimberley Nordic Centre. Ski orienteering is a chance to test both your skiing and navigating skills as you choose your route between checkpoints that are marked on your map. With a diverse range of double and single track classic and skate trails, the Kimberley Nordic Centre is the perfect ski orienteering venue. This is a fun event for all ages and abilities for both individual and team entries and families. The course will be marked on a 1:10,000 scale map and participants will use electronic punch keys to log their progress around the course. Instruction for beginners will be provided before the race.

Race Format: Point to Point Ski-Orienteering, the checkpoints must be visited in order. You can choose to ski classic or skate as all controls will be along skate trails. Participants classic skiing may have shorter routes to certain checkpoints if they use the single track trails whereas skate skiers may have to ski a bit further. There will be 3 different courses to choose from.
