Organizer: Kootenay Orienteering Club (Event Director)

For all those in Kimberley who are interested in learning what Orienteering is all about, come join us for our "Kimberley Orienteering Open House".

Experienced Kootenay Orienteering Club members will be there to teach you the basics of orienteering so that you will feel more confident navigating your way around an orienteering course. You do not have to be a member of the club to attend this Open House event. The Open House is open to anyone, although we ask that youth 13 and under be accompanied by an adult. Orienteering is a sport that you can do as a group/family so bring the kids and learn what it is all about.

Cost: $2-to be collected at the Open House when you sign in. Once you learn some of the basics, you can take a map and try a course or two to get the hang of things. We will have sessions starting at 5:30 and then again at 6:00. Please if you are planning on attending, sign up for your desired starting time and tell us how many are in your group. We hope to see lots of new faces and we look forward to showing you what orienteering is all about!

This event will take place on our McKim / Wallinger Map. Meet us by the McKim school yard by the parking lot off of Rotary Drive (See accompanying map for location)

For those who have orienteering experience, there will be 2 regular courses to choose from.
